Shamed Bobby Madley working in Norwegian sixth tier as ex-Premier League referee's incredible fall from grace continues

The man in the middle has been taken on by Abildso in the south of capital Oslo. All referees in the Scandinavian nation are associated with a team.

Madley, 33, has been told he must be assessed at low league friendly matches before being considered for the Eliteseria top flight when the season starts in March.

He told NRK TV station in Norway: "I would love to take charge in Eliteseria at some point, but I have to work hard and prove my trust first. It's just fair.

"Just because I refereed in the Premier League does not make me better than any other referee in Norway and it gives me no right to got to the top level."

Madley was let go by the Prem bosses in August after making cruel comments on Snapchat about beating a disabled man in a school sports day race.

He also split from his wife and two weeks ago moved to Oslo with his new nurse girlfriend Jenny Emilie Johanessen.

Madley, from Ossett, West Yorkshire, took charge of 91 Premier league games since 2013 and reffed the Charity Shield final last year.

A Premier League spokesman, responding to questions from SunSport over his dismissal relating to the Snapchat message, said: “Bobby Madley is no longer employed by PGMOL.

"We understand he has decided to relocate due to a change in his personal circumstances.”
