Saturday’s racing tips: Three longshots to fill your pockets at Cheltenham, Doncaster and Newbury

Take a punt on this big-priced bunch, who look good value to give you some juicy weekend bunce.

4.30 Newbury – Chatez

This is time of year Alan King’s stamina-laden performer comes to life.

Only seen twice so far this year, the seven-year-old revels in the mud and he will be much fresher than most of his rivals.

Best to ignore his run last time when the ground was too quick and he’s now operating off the same mark as when beating 20 opponents at Doncaster back in 2015.

Likely to be primed for this now having his third run back from a break.

3.25 Doncaster – Mayleaf Shine

At her best on heavy ground but has still shown some strong form under these conditions and will find this more to her liking than the undulations of Newmarket last time.

Had previously finished second in Listed company and on that form should be capable of making her mark at this level.

Iain Jardine has done nothing but improve his filly so far and she can spring a surprise dropped back in trip.

3.10 Cheltenham – Foxtail Hill

Loves it at Prestbury Park and although he was out of form towards the end of last season, there’s not better time to catch him than when he’s fresh from a break.

Nigel Twiston-Davies always makes hay at this time of year and expect his contender to bowl out in front from the outset.

His bold jumping will help as he could catch some of his more rusty rivals off guard.

Dropped to below his last winning mark at the track (when he defeated none other than Grand Annual winner Le Prezien) he should be very tough to beat.
