Ronnie O’Sullivan is continuing his full-time schedule at the start of the season as the draw for the English Open is made and sees the world champion take on French youngster Brian Ochoiski in round one.
The Rocket is entering tournaments on an unusually regular basis for him and will compete at the Championship League and the English Open in the next two weeks.
This comes after he entered the European Masters, but fell in the second round to 18-year-old Aaron Hill in a monumental shock for the world champion.
The English Open will see a star-studded field again when it runs from 12-18 October in Milton Keynes, with world number one Judd Trump, defending champion Mark Selby and the rest of the top 16 all involved.
Trump takes on last season’s Rookie of the Year, Louis Heathcote, in round one, while Selby, who won last week’s European Masters, plays Fan Zhengyi.
Before the English Open begins there is the second week of the Championship League, which confirms the 32 group winners who will progress to Stage Two, which is played at the end of October.
O’Sullivan is in the final group alongside Li Hang, Alex Borg and Iulian Boiko on 5 October.
