Rex Ryan rips into Todd Bowles, Jets: ‘They’re going to blow it up’

Former New York Jets coach Rex Ryan ripped his successor, Todd Bowles, in a lengthy rant about the team on ESPN on Monday morning.

Ryan, who coached the Jets and Buffalo Bills before becoming an analyst for ESPN, described New York's 41-10 loss to Buffalo on Sunday as "one of the most humiliating defeats in Jet history." He then spent more than two minutes criticizing Bowles, the coaching staff and general manager Mike Maccagnan.

Ryan said, among other things, that he believes the Jets will fire both Bowles and Maccagnan at the end of the season.

"They're going to blow it up — and I hope they get it right," Ryan said of the Jets. "Bring somebody in who understands the community, gets that kind of passion, can relate to the fanbase and all that. And never, ever have a performance like this again."
