Real Madrid players 'want rid of Gareth Bale' amid links of £100m Manchester United transfer

The Wales superstar has been linked with a return to England ever since he left Tottenham to join the Spanish giants for £86million in 2013.

Yet with the club enduring their worst start since 2001 and having sacked Julen Lopetegui after just 10 games, Spanish journalist Eduardo India, speaking on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, claimed senior players including Sergio Ramos have complained to chairman Florentino Perez over Bale's negative influence.

The winger was booed off during Saturday's match against Valladolid with the score at 0-0.

Bale's replacement Vinicius Junior went on to help inspire the team to a 2-0 victory as bad feeling continues to grow between the Welshman and fans.

Following the win, Real are now sixth in La Liga, seven points behind Barcelona after a woeful start to the season that included a record 482 minutes without scoring.

Lopetegui joined Real in the summer after being sacked from his role as Spain boss on the eve of the World Cup.

Yet despite a winning start, the move to the Bernabeu turned sour with a four game winless run.

His four-month reign ended after a 5-1 hammering in El Clasico, with Luis Suarez netting a hat-trick for Barcelona.

The club have turned to former midfielder and reserve team coach Santiago Solari to step in as head coach, with the Argentinian likely to remain in the role until the end of the season.

However, former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also been linked with the role.
