Reach is confident Sheff Wed will show resilience after Middlesbrough loss

Adam Reach is tipping Sheffield Wednesday to bounce back again at QPR.

Wednesday have recovered from their last three losses by winning their next game and Reach is confident Jos Luhukay’s side will respond positively from their defeat to Middlesbrough when they face Rangers on Tuesday.

“What the manager does really well after a negative result is we speak about it briefly and we then brush it under the carpet,” said the in-form midfielder, who scored his fifth goal of the season against Boro.

“We see clips of how we did and the good stuff we have done.

“After a negative result, I think we have always reacted immediately afterwards, which shows good team spirit and strong character from the players.

“We were all disappointed after Boro, but we will go again and concentrate on QPR. If we go there and play like we have done in recent away games, I think we’ll come away with a result.”

Wednesday have not kept a clean sheet in any of their 13 league games and Reach says the whole team are working hard to “get that monkey off our backs”.

“The defenders are not feeling the pressure because when you keep a clean sheet, it’s down to the whole team,” he said.

“It’s not just the goalkeeper and the defence’s responsibility, it’s everyone’s.

“We have to do a bit better collectively on the defensive side. We all have to look at ourselves.

“It’s important to get that monkey off our back. It will come and we are all working hard for that.”
