Rams’ Johnny Hekker sets Super Bowl record with 65-yard punt

In a Super Bowl devoid of offense for the first three quarters, it seems somewhat appropriate to have a record-setting 65-yard punt.

All-Pro punter Johnny Hekker got the Los Angeles Rams out of the shadow of their own goal line with a boomer out of his own end zone that was downed on the Patriots' 29-yard-line. 

It was Hekker's eighth punt of the game … on the Rams' eighth possession.

The previous record for the longest punt in Super Bowl history was 64 yards by Ryan Allen of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.
