Philadelphia trounced by Brooklyn in NBA

Philadelphia 76ers have continued their winless streak on the road to start the NBA season, going down 122-97 to the Brooklyn Nets despite another good display from Ben Simmons.

Once again, the 76ers were overly reliant on their big two with Australian guard Simmons knocking down 20 points to go with 12 rebounds and centre Joel Embiid racking up 16 points and 15 rebounds.

But it wasn't anywhere near enough against the Nets who were led by D'Angelo Russell (21 points) and Caris LeVert (20).

The 76ers did themselves no favours on Sunday by committing 28 turnovers, their most in three years.

Philadelphia have won their opening six games at home and lost all five on the road.

In other action, Giannis Antetokounmpo registered his second triple-double of the young season with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists, helping Milwaukee get back on the winning track with a 144-109 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

The Bucks used an 18-1 run in the first quarter to take command in their first NBA game since losing on Thursday at Boston, their only defeat after opening the season 7-0.

Australian duo Thon Maker (three points and two rebounds) and Matthew Dellavedova (two points and five assists) both had less than 10 minutes of play for Milwaukee – who broke a franchise record with 22 three-pointers.

Justin Jackson had 22 points for the Kings, who had won five in a row.

John Wall scored 26 points, Bradley Beal added 22 and the Washington Wizards beat the New York Knicks 108-95 to snap a five-game losing streak.
