PAOK win Greek league for first time in 34 years and fans celebrate with stunning flare spectacular at stadium

PAOK fans celebrated their first Greek title in 34 years with a spectacular flare display.

The Thessaloniki-based outfit are the first team from outside capital Athens to win the league since Larissa in 1988.

And their crushing 5-0 victory over Levadiakos kept their undefeated season going as they scooped the crown with a game to spare.

PAOK were ahead after just three minutes as Yevhen Shakhov opened the scoring to trigger wild celebrations in the already fiery Toumba stadium.

Diego Biseswar scored a penalty five minutes later and Fernando added a third after the break to take things up a notch in the stands.

Shakhov got his second before Karol Swiderski put the cherry on top with the fifth.

PAOK moved onto 77 points – five clear of Olympiakos with one game to go.

And their victory saw supporters spill onto the streets all over the city.

The club have won the league three times and it would have been fourth but for a points deduction last season.

Their penalty came as owner Ivan Savvidis was banned for three years after storming on to the pitch with a gun in a holster.

But he was able to greet the team outside the stadium ahead of the decider and watched events on TV nearby.
