Newcastle transfer target Almiron dribble past four players and chip keeper in amazing training ground skill

In the clip Almiron beats four players with blistering pace and dribbling ability before calmly chipping the ball over the keeper to finish off his amazing run.

Newcastle are braced to smash their long-standing transfer record to sign Atlanta United’s Almiron for £21million.

The Paraguay international travelled to Tyneside to complete a medical and finalise his move from the MLS.

Amazingly, the £16m the Magpies paid Real Madrid for Michael Owen in 2005 remains their biggest outlay.

But after having an initial offer of the same figure rejected by the American outfit, they have now upped the ante in order to secure his services – although the fee remains unconfirmed.

Atlanta have been holding out for a sum of at least £19m for the 24-year-old.

Fans have reacted to the news of Almiron by comparing him to the character Santiago Munez in the 2005 film “Goal!”

Munez is a Mexican forward who joins Newcastle from America, and fans have likened the South American Almiron to the main character in Goal!

One said: "Miguel Almiron arriving to England should go something like this!"

Another said: "There is only one man that can save Newcastle now #BringBackSantiMunez."

One added: "A few people seem sceptical about the Miguel Almirón signing, but the last lightweight, Latin-American lad Newcastle brought over from the US worked out perfectly fine."

Another added: "Miguel Almiron – The best Newcastle signing since Santiago Munez."
