Nani's amazing gesture as he consoles old Manchester United team-mate Danny Welbeck after awful injury in Arsenal draw against Sporting Lisbon

The Portuguese star, 31, rushed over to his former Manchester United team-mate as he was taken off on a stretcher with a nasty-looking injury and shook his hand.

The Gunners striker went up for a header midway through the first-half against Sebastian Coates and landed awkwardly.

He was immediately substituted for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with what looked like a broken or dislocated right ankle.

Many team-mates including Matteo Guendouzi were left visibly shocked by the horror fall, as he was given a standing ovation by the Emirates crowd.

The 27-year-old is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines having been taken off on a stretcher and given oxygen for the pain.

An official update on Welbeck's condition is expected later this evening.

But despite the horrendous scenes, Twitter also focused on Nani, whose classy gesture did not go unnoticed.
