Twitter users were left baffled by the Liverpool star's reaction to his team-mate's last-minute winner in last night's 3-2 Champions League thriller.
While Jurgen Klopp celebrated Firmino's goal, TV cameras picked up Salah slamming his water bottle down.
Fans were split as to whether the Egyptian was showing frustration or delight.
But a new picture has emerged showing Salah, 26, on the bench with his arms in the air moments before chucking his bottle.
Salah was subbed for Xherdan Shaqiri in the 85th minute – just two minutes after giving the ball away for Kylian Mbappe's equaliser.
The frustrated forward also had a goal disallowed ruled out for a foul in the second half.
Salah, who scored a staggering 44 goals in all competitions last term, is yet to replicate the form which saw him win the Premier League golden boot and PFA Player of the Year.
BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand reckons Salah was simply relieved that Firmino got him out of jail.
He said: "I think you have to give Salah the benefit of the doubt there, he is probably just relieved it's gone their way.
"The bond this team has on the pitch at the moment, I think Salah is celebrating in his own little way. His hands are up at the beginning to celebrate."
Ex-Liverpool star John Arne Riise added: "He's not a guy who smiles and celebrates a lot – and when he throws the bottle down it was a few seconds after the goal went in.
"I think it was just relief."
Firmino, on the other hand, DEFINITELY celebrated his match-winner.
The Brazil star, who took a finger in the eye during last weekend's 2-1 win at Tottenham, started the game on the bench and had to wait 72 minutes before coming on for Daniel Sturridge.
After jinking his way past the PSG defence and finding the corner of the net, Firmino ran to the crowd and mimicked having an eye patch in celebration.
Klopp said he "loved" the gesture.
He added: "To come off the bench after his injury at the weekend is incredible really."
