The Hunt family can add another big win to its resume.
Gracie Hunt — the 22-year-old daughter of Kansas City Chiefs chairman and CEO, Clark Hunt — was crowned Miss Kansas USA at the state’s annual pageant on Sunday. Hunt is also the granddaughter of Lamar Hunt, who founded the Chiefs, coined the name “Super Bowl,” and played a central role in shaping the NFL into what it is today.
Hunt won the competition 28 years after her mother, Tavia, was crowned Miss Kansas USA in 1993. She has credited her mother for introducing her to pageants and being an “incredible mentor,” she told IN Kansas City.
Pageants weren’t always in the plans for Hunt, who was a budding soccer star whose career was cut short due to on-field injuries before reaching the collegiate level.
“After suffering four concussions that ended my soccer chapter, pageantry became my dream,” Hunt said.
Now, she’ll be competing for Miss USA 2021.

In addition to her pageant duties as Miss Kansas, Hunt works in marketing and development for the Chiefs — all while pursuing her master’s degree in sport management at the University of Kansas.
Hunt is making waves with the 2020 Super Bowl champions, having launched Chiefs Fit, two high-end fitness centers opening in Kansas City — the self-proclaimed “adrenaline junkie” is also a fitness fanatic. Hunt, who has Celiac disease, is a certified health and fitness coach.
“Being diagnosed at a young age has made me very health-conscious,” said Hunt, who is highly allergic to gluten. “I am committed to health and fitness, which is a huge passion of mine, and I recently completed my nutrition certification and accreditation to help others live a healthy lifestyle.”
Additionally, Hunt is passionate about causes close to her heart. In 2016, she founded the nonprofit, Breaking Barriers Through Sports, which strives to help the disadvantaged and promote respect and inclusion worldwide.
Hunt is also a Global Ambassador for Special Olympics.
