The 30-year-old was detained by police on Monday after he allegedly smashed a mobile phone out of a fan's hand, before walking away with it.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, he was charged with strong-arm robbery and misdemeanour criminal mischief over the incident that occurred outside the Fontainebleau Hotel.
The arrest report claims the Irishman was walking out of the hotel with a fan at around 5am local time, where 22-year-old Ahmed Abdirzak tried to take a picture of him.
McGregor is then alleged to have whacked his £755 phone to the ground, before stomping on it several times, picking it up, and then leaving the area.
The Notorious was released overnight after posting his £9,450 bond, where he would then release a quick statement vowing to continue to work on his patience.
He said: "Patience in this world is a virtue I continue to work on. I love my fans dearly. Thank you all."
Malignaggi – who has had a long-running feud with McGregor since their sparring sessions in 2017 – immediately took to social media to taunt the two-weight world champion.
The 38-year-old tweeted: "Yo @TheNotoriousMMA don't you think you rob your fans enough EVERYTIME they order 1 of your fights they gotta watch you get your ass kicked and quit?!
"If you need a phone that bad don't sweat it bro I'll just put you on my phone plan."
McGregor was spotted grinning in a police car hours after his arrest, where he was found at a house on North Venetian Drive following the incident.
He is currently in Florida with his family to celebrate his mum's 60th birthday as he nears a return back to the Octagon.
And he has been preparing for his comeback bout by wrestling an alligator – where he even managed to grab the reptile by its tail.
