Manchester United stars Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling take on 100 kids in brilliant sketch for James Corden's Late, Late Show

The comedian, who found fame on Gavin & Stacey, took full advantage of the club being in Los Angeles for their pre-season tour as part of his Late, Late Show.

Mourinho has not been a happy man this summer as he continues to be left frustrated over transfer deals.

But even he couldn't help smiling when he found out Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling would be taking on a centurion of children.

Corden, who was wearing his beloved West Ham shorts, introduced the children to the Red Devils by saying: "This is Manchester United. This is the only time in the world you show them a little respect.

"From this moment on it's do or die."

As quality went up against quantity, it was United's players that still came out on top winning the game 2-1.

Mourinho even had a stint in goal to help out his side who were being swarmed with every touch.

It capped a rare win for United following a disappointing pre-season campaign against a host of top European sides.

Draws against Club America and San Jose Earthquakes was followed up by a penalty victory over AC Milan.

They also endured a heavy 4-1 defeat against Liverpool and a 1-0 loss against Bayern Munich but did beat Real Madrid.

United's season kicks-off on Friday with a home clash against Leicester.

And Mourinho will be hoping to have one or two new names on the team-sheet including Toby Alderweireld and Yerry Mina.
