Manchester United star Marcus Rashford sent-off for violent conduct against Burnley just ten minutes after coming on

As United were awarded a corner, the sub reacted furiously after standing toe-to-toe with the former Old Trafford star – with Bardsley appearing to swing a leg at Rashford off the ball.

The young striker had only been on the pitch for TEN MINUTES, after replacing Alexis Sanchez.

Bardsley was shown a yellow card for his shoving match – but the punishment for England man Rashford was far more severe.

Burnley hadn't much to cheer from their home game against United, 2-0 down thanks to a brace from Romelu Lukaku.

But the loudest cheer from Turf Moor of the afternoon rang out when Rashford was given his marching orders.

It seemed the most needless of reactions – the visitors had been awarded a corner against a Burnley side who looked shot of confidence and out on their feet.

But Rashford gave the home fans something to cling onto, no doubt leaving his boss Jose Mourinho incensed at his lack of discipline.

Earlier in the day, disillusioned fans displayed their anger towards the club by flying an anti-Ed Woodward banner over Turf Moor.

The banner read: “Ed Woodward: A specialist in failure” – and was still flying during the minute's silence for late Burnley legend Jimmy McIlroy.
