Manchester United news: Juventus eye Paul Pogba return and enquire at meeting with Red Devils chiefs in Turin… but do they have a buy-back clause?

The Serie A giants are keen on re-signing the man they sold to the Red Devils for £89m back in 2016.

The Metro claim they informed the Premier League side of their desire to bring him back to Italy before their Champions League defeat at home to United on October 7.

Pogba, 25, spent four years at Juventus after leaving Old Trafford in 2012 and remains a huge favourite with the club’s hierarchy and supporters.

And the Old Lady asked United to keep them in the loop over the potential availability of their record-signing during informal talks.

Pogba’s future has been up-in-the-air for months with constant speculation surrounding his relationship with Jose Mourinho.

His comments ahead of his return to Juve a fortnight ago were also noted by Red Devils officials, where the star said the reigning Scudetto holders was still his “home”.

The Metro states two clubs have a good relationship since “their civil negotiations’ over the Pogba deal two years ago.

They also report “a first option clause inserted into Pogba’s contract when he joined United in 2016 means the Red Devils must make Juventus aware if they’re to sell the Frenchman”.

And when chiefs of the two European giants got together, Juventus made it clear they are keen on re-signing the World Cup winner if he becomes available.

This latest report follows on from claims in the Italian media that Pogba has spoken to several of his former team-mates at Juventus to express his desire to return.

The ace was forced to pull out of international duty last week through injury, missing France’s Nations League defeat to Holland on Friday and tonight’s friendly against Uruguay.

Despite that absence he is set to return to action this Saturday for United’s home clash with Crystal Palace.

WAS IT A PAIN IN THE BARCE FOR UNITED?

MANCHESTER UNITED supporters believe Paul Pogba's chance meeting with Lionel Messi could tempt him with a move to Barcelona.

The Frenchman was dining at Salt Bae's plush steak house in Dubai when he bumped into the Argentinean magician last week.

Pogba, sporting a white bandanna, was seen locked in conversation with Messi as talk over the Frenchman's future continues to hot up.
