The Old Trafford chief, 55, had been fuming at a perceived lack of support as his team arrived late for their 1-0 defeat to Juventus due to heavy traffic.
Mourinho demanded a police escort, but was told he would not be given one.
Ahead of the Champions League clash midweek, United's stars were forced to sit on the bus for 70 minutes for their half-mile journey due to congestion.
But today, stubborn Mourinho got his wish, as a police motorbike led his side to Old Trafford to ensure they made it on time for the Toffees clash.
On top of that, the squad left half an hour early, keen to avoid any more traffic drama.
For the massively sub-par clash with Juventus, United arrived just 50 minutes ahead of kick-off – and it showed.
After the match, a United source claimed: “The players must be relaxed and concentrated before a game.
"They don’t like to be closed in on a bus in the middle of traffic.”
United had already been fined £13,000 for being similarly late for another Champions League clash – this time in the goalless draw with Valencia on October 2.
Earlier this week, the United source added: “Some players don’t hide any more how unhappy they are with the lack of support from the club.
“How can a club like United not organise security to escort the players. It would cost peanuts.
“The conclusion is that Woodward does not understand football.”
Yesterday it was revealed Mourinho had asked his United stars to WALK to Old Trafford over the traffic dilemma, but his idea was rejected over security fears.
