Manchester City ‘will need to smash transfer record’ to land midfield target

Manchester City will need to smash their transfer record to sign Lyon sensation Tanguy Ndombele.

That is according to the Daily Star, who say the French side have slapped a £70million price tag on the 21-year-old midfielder.

City’s current record buy is Riyad Mahrez who arrived at the Etihad for £60million from Leicester over the summer.

Ndombele was considered by City in the off-season when they missed out on Jorginho to Chelsea, but opted against a swoop.

City have also been linked with Frenkie de Jong from Ajax and Wolves’ Ruben Neves.
