Man Utd 'make £27m transfer off for Gabriel to Lille including bonuses' with Everton and Napoli also interested

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly one of three clubs that have made a £27million offer for Lille star Gabriel Magalhaes.

French outlet La Voix du Nord claim that the Red Devils, Everton and Napoli have all made proposals to land the Brazilian defender.

The report adds that Lille have already lined up £7m-rated Ajax defender Sven Botman as his replacement.

Gabriel now has the power to choose which of the three clubs he wishes to join but his preference is to join Napoli.

Yet it is said that United's Champions League qualification could potentially be a game-changer.

The Red Devils are keen to add Gabriel to their exciting crop of youngsters, and have been swayed by his reasonable price-tag.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign long-term centre-back partner for Harry Maguire.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave Lille in the coming weeks, with the Ligue 1 club's owner Gerard Lopez admitting as much.

He told L'Equipe: "With Gabriel, we are talking and we’ve given him an exit pass. He will choose his club this week.”

The 6ft 3in defender made 34 appearances in the curtailed French 2019-20 season – including every minute of his side's Champions League campaign.

The Old Trafford club are on the hunt for a new centre-back this summer with Phil Jones expected to leave.

Chris Smalling could make his loan spell at Roma permanent while Eric Bailly has struggled with injuries.

Gabriel joined Ligue 1 Lille from Avai in his native Brazil back in 2017.

He has previously attracted interest from Arsenal who are set to miss out on Nice star Malang Sarr.
