Man Utd interim boss Ralf Rangnick ‘will get £8m bonus if he lands blockbuster Erling Haaland transfer’ from Dortmund

RALF RANGNICK will receive an £8million bonus if he can help Manchester United land Erling Haaland, according to reports.

The Norwegian striker has been on the Red Devils' radar for some time, after they were gazumped by Borussia Dortmund in January 2020.

Haaland has since banged in 71 goals in 70 games for BVB, attracting further interest from the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

In Rangnick, however, Man United feel they have acquired a key ingredient in attracting the 21-year-old.

According to Bild, part of the Red Devils' reasoning for appointing Rangnick is his relationship with Haaland's representatives, father Alf-Inge and agent Mino Raiola.

Rangnick worked for Red Bull during the forward's time at RB Salzburg, and sat down with Alf-Inge and Raiola for numerous talks as he tried to convince them to make the move to RB Leipzig.

He ultimately wasn't successful, but still left an impression on Haaland and Co with his football philosophy and vision.

They were impressed by Rangnick, and left with a good 'chemistry' with the 63-year-old.
