Man Utd hit with £13,700 Uefa fine after fans threw objects at PSG's Di Maria

Home fans targeted former winger Angel Di Maria as he took part in his first match back at Old Trafford since swapping the Premier League for Ligue 1.

The Argentinian ace had beer bottles thrown at him and was booed throughout the match at the Theatre of Dreams.

Di Maria told the Red Devils faithful to "f*** off" after Presnel Kimpembe opened the scoring.

Uefa have fined United for fans throwing objects onto the pitch, while the club have also been charged due to their stairways being blocked during the Champions League last-16 first leg.

While PSG have been ordered by Uefa to pay Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side £35,000 after fans set off fireworks and threw objects, with the club charged also due to crowd disturbance and acts of damages.

A statement from the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body said: "The French club is ordered to contact Manchester United FC within 30 days for the settlement of the damages caused by its supporters to the segregation net and the seats."

The English club are on the brink of exiting the last-16 stage for the second season running after losing 2-0.

It is the only loss inflicted on Solskjaer since he replaced Jose Mourinho in December.

And he will be without the likes of Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic for the return leg against PSG.
