Man Utd fans turn on Romelu Lukaku after he injures himself falling over ball

The striker was true to form and totally let himself down with his first touch in the 2-2 draw at Southampton.

And furious United fans filled St Mary's with a booming chant of, 'what the f***ing hell was that?"

Lukaku stuck out his left leg to control a pass but placed his foot on top of the ball and it went underneath him – much like he did in midweek against Young Boys, when he did not injure himself.

But on this occasion the Belgian then jarred his right knee into the turf and ended up in a crumpled heap during the 84th-minute flashpoint.

He was subbed off just two minutes later by Jose Mourinho, who had Lukaku and Ander Herrera to thank for wiping out Saints' first two goals through Stuart Armstrong and Cedric Soares.
