Man City's Ukrainian ace Oleksandr Zinchenko buys 27 tickets for family for Shakhtar Donetsk clash… but fails to make match day squad

The Etihad's Ukrainian left-back looked nailed on to be involved against Shakhtar Donetsk, with Benjamin Mendy ruled out through injury.

The 21-year-old even shared the pre-match media duties with Pep Guardiola where he revealed he had shelled out for almost 30 tickets for the Champions League clash.

But the prospect was ditched from the squad that went on to win 3-0.

At least it made his tough decision over celebrating a potential goal easier after he admitted to wrestling with the idea.

On Monday, Zinchenko said: “The time I spent in Shakhtar was one of the best times of my life. Would I celebrate if I scored? It’s a very good question. Let’s see what tomorrow brings!”

Fans felt for the exciting playmaker who has been moulded into a full-back by Guardiola.
