Man City close in on Joao Cancelo transfer with Danilo heading to Juventus in player-plus cash deal – The Sun

MANCHESTER CITY are closing in on a move for Juventus star Joao Cancelo in a player-plus cash deal involving Danilo.

The Portuguese full-back left the Italian giants training base earlier today to travel to England for talks.

His representatives arrived in the UK over the weekend, and discussions between the two clubs have gone well.

City boss Pep Guardiola is desperate to strengthen at right-back, and sees Cancelo as a huge improvement.

It is understood Danilo will head to the Old Lady with the Premier League champions also paying around £25m.

Cancelo, 25, is set to sign a five-year deal at the Etihad on around £200,000-a-week.

It is also thought Brazilian Danilo, 25, is happy to move to Italy and will join on a contract until 2022.

Guardiola has scouted Cancelo on a number of occasions over the past few seasons, and has finally landed his man.

He wants the defender to provide competition for England’s Kyle Walker on the right-hand side.

Danilo moved to City two-years-ago from Real Madrid after signing for £26.5m, and has won two titles.
