Man City 2 Spurs 2: Gabriel Jesus has dramatic last-gasp Man City winner ruled out by controversial VAR handball decision as Spurs cling on – The Sun

IN the end he didn’t need a boxing ring – but Pep Guardiola will still go to bed night dazed and confused.

Baffled at how his defence nodded off and Lucas Moura nodded Spurs’ second equaliser just 19 SECONDS after coming on.

Baffled at how his Manchester City had failed to make it 16 Premier League wins on the bounce.

And above all else, baffled at the most contentious and debatable VAR decision you will ever see robbing his side of victory.

LATE DRAMA

Ninety minutes were up when Gabriel Jesus fizzed in the goal which had surely won the points for City and got them the win their dominance and chances deserved.

But then amazingly, with everyone back in position, referee Michael Oliver was signalling a Spurs free kick in the box.

Kevin De Bruyne’s corner had glanced Aymeric Laporte’s arm as it came into the area, before it fell to Jesus, before it ended in the corner of Hugo Lloris net.

Not even Spurs appealed.

Mauricio Pochettino – who had jokingly suggested the two managerial rivals should sort out their differences with boxing gloves – hadn’t.

No-one had.
