Luis Suarez transfer odds: Aston Villa, Arsenal and West Ham in the mix for Atletico ace and former Liverpool star

LUIS SUAREZ is expected to depart Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, and bookmakers are suggesting he could be set for a trip to North America.

Betfair are offering odds of 2/1 for Suarez to join any club in Major League Soccer, though Aston Villa (4/1) and Arsenal (6/1) are also still in the picture.

The 35-year-old has enjoyed a glistening career filled with trophies and individual achievements at every club he's been at.

El Pistolero looks set to be the latest of a long list of a names to ply their trade in MLS during the twilight of their careers.

Despite signing for Atletico Madrid from Barcelona in the summer of 2020 for £6m as a 33-year-old, Suarez has continued to score goals at a consistent rate, scoring 34 goals during his time at the club, proving he is still very capable of performing at the top level.

Having won seven league titles in three different countries for four different teams, Suarez looks set to depart Los Colchoneros after not extending his contract, which runs out at the end of the season.

Despite MLS being the most likely destination for Suarez according to Betfair, there is still Premier League interest in the player from the likes of Aston Villa and Arsenal.

  • Arsenal 6/1
  • PSG 10/1
  • West Ham 10/1
  • Liverpool 12/1

Aston Villa's odds are as short as 4/1 to sign one of the greatest striker of his generation, and current Villa boss Steven Gerrard is the main reason for it.

Suarez and Gerrard enjoyed a very successful three-and-a-half years together while playing for Liverpool, where Suarez's career really took off, having managed 82 goals and 46 assists in 133 games for the club.

Although Suarez only ever won the League Cup during his time on Merseyside, he did make two PFA Team of the Seasons, won the PFA Player of the Year in 2013-14 and won the Premier League's Golden Boot the same year.

A reunion with Gerrard at Villa is a possibility, but Arsenal are also thought to be interested in signing the veteran striker.

The Gunners face having an extreme shortage of strikers next season, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having left for Barcelona in January, and Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both having contracts expiring in June.

Arsenal infamously tried to sign Suarez in 2013 under Arsene Wenger for £40,000,001, a bid that was swiftly rejected by Liverpool. This time they might have more luck, with Betfair offering odds of 6/1.
