Liverpool star James Milner brutally trolls himself with #cantpolishaturd hashtag as he posts picture of make-up being done ahead of filming

The Liverpool winger wrote on social media that the make-up artist working on his appearance had "the hardest job in the world".

Milner is seemingly trying to alter his reputation for being boring with a string of gags on social media this season.

He has recently replied to a fan's Twitter post with a rap message inspired by an Eminem quote.

And he has now mocked his looks with a hashtag #cantpolishaturd attached to a picture of a make-up artist preparing him for a Nivea commercial shoot.

The 33-year-old posted a picture of himself getting make-up done and called it "the hardest job in the world".

And fans were quick to join in his own mockery.

One wrote on Twitter: "About as much a waste of time as the lifeguard at the Olympic swimming pool."

While another added: "So versatile, I’m surprised you’re not doing that job as well."

And a third wrote: "She’s got the hardest job in the world because how do you better something that’s perfect."

It is not the first time Milner has had a laugh at his looks.

After he suffered a terrible head cut in a pre-season friendly against Napoli last August, he wrote on social media that his "Nivea days could be numbered".

And once he had stitches removed, the England international implied that his scar reminded him of the lightening bolt-shaped mark on Harry Potter's forehead, and told fans he could fancy a game of Quidditch.
