Let NASCAR’s 4 championship drivers convince you why they’ll win at Homestead

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Thousands of miles and 35 races all boil down to Sunday in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The playoffs’ Championship 4 drivers – Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr. and Joey Logano – will get behind the wheel one more time in 2018 and race for 400 final miles to determine who’s really the best this season.

Not only are they competing with each other, but they also have to fend off any trouble from the rest of the field on the 1.5-mile track at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Between the talent of the drivers and the speed their teams have demonstrated this season and in the first nine playoff races, the final four championship contenders agreed they’ll probably have to win the race to win it all.

For Harvick, Busch and Truex, a victory would be their second Cup Series title, while Logano is still searching for his first. Harvick and Busch won in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and Truex is trying to defend his 2017 championship.

So ahead of the Cup Series finale, the Ford EcoBoost 400, For The Win asked each of them why they will win on Sunday, and here’s what they said.

Kevin Harvick, No. 4 Ford

2018 wins: 8, T-1st
Best Homestead finish: 1st, 2014
Average Homestead finish: 6.8 in 17 starts
Qualified for Championship 4: Based on points (after Texas Motor Speedway win was penalized)
“I can’t guarantee you that I’m going to win. If we do win, it’ll be because of the fact that we’ve had fast race cars all year. I look at the experience of our race team; we’ve been together for five years now, and we all work for a great organization that gives us all the resources and things that we need to compete. In the end, you can’t drive a slow car fast and it takes great people to build a fast car.”

Kyle Busch, No. 18 Toyota
