Kurt Zouma set to return for West Ham this weekend after picking up stomach bug at Leicester following cat kick video

KURT ZOUMA is set to return for West Ham on Saturday after being struck by a stomach bug.

The Hammers defender withdrew from David Moyes’ squad just before the 2-2 draw with Leicester on Sunday but is expected to be available for the visit of Newcastle.

The French star, 27, sparked outrage after video footage emerged this month of him kicking his cat.

Zouma fell ill overnight in the East Midlands and returned to London on Sunday evening separately from the team so the bug did not spread.

He was not included in a recovery session for the Hammers squad yesterday.

But Zouma, who was replaced in the team to face the Foxes by Issa Diop, is expected to return to full training tomorrow.

West Ham’s players have been given a day off today ahead of the visit of the rejuvenated Toon.

Eddie Howe's side have won their last three matches in a big boost to their chances of avoiding relegation.
