Kepa situation ‘destabilised’ Chelsea says Pedro but talks between players and Sarri have ‘solved all the problems’

Blues keeper Kepa refused to be substituted late in the Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City in an act of open revolt against boss Maurizio Sarri.

That left the Chelsea manager fighting to maintain his authority over the rest of the dressing room with his own future on the line.

But Sarri made a huge statement by axing the £75million keeper for the clash with Tottenham last night – and was rewarded as his side secured a 2-0 win that keeps them in the hunt for a top four finish.

And Pedro, who opened the scoring against Spurs, insists all is good between the squad and their boss after frank talks this week.

He told ESPN: “There has been a lot of talk this week and that always destabilises a little, but the truth is that in the dressing room we are together, as a great team.

"We have all talked to each other in the dressing room. We've also talked to Willy and we've talked to the coach.

"The truth is that we have solved all the problems and I think it has been a [small] incident rather than a serious problem.

"It always serves to learn. We are with Kepa, with Willy and with the manager.

"We have always been with him. We have always talked about all the problems we have had.

"He had to make a decision. He has done that and we simply respect him because we always respect all the managers.

"This is the path that we have to follow. Now we need to get ready very well for the match against Fulham because it is another final."

Chelsea know they cannot afford to slip up in the West London derby if they are to force their way back into the top four.

They are currently in sixth, three points adrift of Arsenal in the final Champions League spot and two points behind United.
