His streak included winning the last eight consecutive matches of the year conceding just one goal in the process.
And Matuidi will be hoping he continues his own personal fine form when Juve return to action following the winter break against Bologna on Saturday.
The second most successful player in 2018 was Antoine Griezmann and Angel Di Maria with 45.
Liverpool's Roberto Firmino was joint third alongside Ivan Rakitic with 44.
