Jose Mourinho incredibly has a better win percentage than Fergie as United boss

The Portuguese coach was under fire following an early season slump and his position was reportedly under careful observation by the United board ahead of yesterday's Premier League clash – although the rumours were later dismissed by the club.

Mourinho proved his doubters wrong against Newcastle as his team fought back to win 3-2 after falling 2-0 behind in the first half.

United fans also stood behind the troubled coach, cheering Mourinho even though his side was surprisingly losing to Rafa Benitez's men.
Second-half goals from Anthony Martial and Juan Mata inspired United's comeback, and Alexis Sanchez’s late winner sealed the victory which, it turns out, is worth more than only three league points.

The Newcastle victory was Mourinho’s 79th win as Man United coach – from the total of 131 games in charge – meaning he’s triumphed in 60.3 per cent of games during his reign at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson only had a 60.1% winning ratio as United boss in his 27-year career at the club.

Mourinho’s win percentage is also higher than David Moyes’ when in charge of Red Devils (50.9 per cent), Louis van Gaal’s (52.4 per cent), as well as his own from the second title-winning Chelsea stint (58.8 per cent).
The record might give Mourinho a confidence boost and he has already told reporters he is ready for the "manhunt" he is facing.

He said: "There is too much wickedness in something that should be beautiful. I cope with it with some sadness. I am a mature, I am a big boy and I will deal with it.

"I have to be ready for all of this. I think a lot of wickedness and clear manhunting, in football is too much. It is my life. It is the life I love and since I was kid I work for this."
