Jose Mourinho has snowball thrown at him on way to greet Roma fans before shock Bodo/Glimt defeat

ROMA manager Jose Mourinho had a snowball lunged at him on his way to Thursday's Europa Conference League clash with Bodo/Glimt.

The Giallorossi endured another miserable night in Norway as they lost 2-1 in the quarter-final first leg at the Aspmyra Stadion.

Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring on 43 minutes and sent the Serie A giants to the dressing room with the lead at half-time.

However, Kjetil Knutsen's men equalised after 56 minutes with Ulrik Saltnes and turned things around with Hugo Vetlesen just one minute before full-time.

Mourinho's second woeful evening in Norway on the same season, however, got off on the wrong foot before he even arrived at the stadium.

The former Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea boss was greeted by fans on his way to a bus that would take him to the ground.

That is when someone from the crowd threw a snowball at the Portuguese head coach, who was quick enough to dodge it.

The 59-year-old and his associates were evidently displeased with the incident and so the ex-Real Madrid boss decided against greeting the rest of the crowd.

This is after Mourinho and co suffered a shock 6-1 thrashing to Glimt in the Europa Conference League group stage six months ago.

Carles Perez opened the scoring that night but it all went downhill after that.

A brace by Erik Botheim and Ola Solbakken as well as goals by Patrick Berg and Amahl Pellegrino led to Mourinho's heaviest defeat since his arrival in Rome.

The two sides' return fixture at the Olimpico ended in a 2-2 draw that saw Roma struggling once more.

Solbakken opened the scoring before Stephan El Shaarawy equalised and then Botheim put Glimt back in front with Roger Ibanez levelling things up.
