New season, new gal pal for Joel Embiid.
The 76ers star and model magnet addresses his relationship status in a new interview with GQ, appearing as the magazine’s first-ever digital cover star.
“My girlfriend is coming [to dinner],” Embiid says without dropping names, later revealing she’s “pretty big at what she does.”
Following his rumored fling with Jocelyn Chew this spring, it’s been speculated Embiid, 24, has been dating Sports Illustrated Swimsuit stunner Anne de Paula.
The two were spotted at the same club in Miami over the summer, where Embiid and Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton partied with a bevy of models, Page Six previously reported. The brunette stunner also has taken in a few Sixers games as well, per SportsGossip.com. Embiid planted a courtside kiss on de Paula, too.
As for dating in the NBA, Embiid says things can get a bit awkward if one fails to do his due diligence.
“You gotta do your background check,” Embiid explains. “You don’t want to be that guy marrying a girl that someone else in the NBA has been with. … I’m sure some guys end up getting married to women that have been around. And maybe on the court, they also get told — ‘Hey, I f–ked your wife.’”
