Jockey Egan outed for four months

Jockey Billy Egan was suspended for four months by Racing Victoria stewards on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to a charge that a urine sample he provided contained a banned substance.

The test was conducted at Mildura races on July.

Egan's license to ride in races has been suspended and his ban will end at midnight on 20 December 2018.

In assessing the penalty stewards said they took into account Egan’s guilty plea, personal circumstances and '' forthright evidence.''

Stewards said Egan is permitted to resume riding trackwork, official trials and horse handling once he has provided a sample that is clear of any banned substance.
