Jamie Carragher blasts diving PSG stars who must struggle to ‘speak to their wives and families’

The former Liverpool defender has ripped into Neymar and Thiago Silva for diving during the Champions League tie.

After the 2-1 defeat, Jurgen Klopp tore into the PSG forward and claimed the "500,000 interruptions were a hurdle."

And Sky Sports pundit Carragher has also jumped to the defence of his former club.

Speaking on Viasport, the 40-year-old said: "It was very frustrating.

"I think with Neymar it was even in the first half, we're talking about one of the best players in the world, but watching him tonight was embarrassing.

"If he continues that throughout his whole career, he's going to be remembered for that rather than the great player he is.

"And it leaves a sour taste in the mouth really and I have no sympathy really with the PSG players if Klopp is frustrated with them, that's understandable.

"Even Thiago Silva, the captain, the centre back, rolling around in the corner near the end holding his face.

"This is a great team with some great players, they don't need to resort to these tactics, they should let the football do the talking.

"You're frustrated as a Liverpool supporter but as a football fan, people watching all around the world they should be embarrassed.

"I don't know how they go back and speak to their families and wives in the player's lounge.

"You know rolling around on the floor like that, the only time you see that is children at kindergarten."

But Neymar hit back and blamed an injury for his inability to stay on his feet at the Parc des Princes.

He said: "I wasn't at 100 per cent but it was an important so injured or not I had to be there."

And he put on the controversial display as a number of celebrities watched from the stands – including Leonardo Di Caprio and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

But the Brazilian made a name for himself at the World Cup this summer by collapsing to the ground at every occasion possible.

Fans mocked him for faking an injury and two computer games even joined in to troll the ex-Barcelona star.
