Jadon Sancho willing to make Man City return as Man Utd struggle to pay £115million transfer fee – The Sun

JADON SANCHO is willing to bury the hatchet with Pep Guardiola to return to England — as he fears being left in limbo.

Borussia Dortmund’s England ace, 20, has his heart set on a summer Premier League move.

And with his proposed switch to Manchester United hitting rocky ground, he has told friends he would even consider going back to former club Manchester City, if they showed an interest.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been tracking the brilliant young Three Lions winger — valued at £115million by Dortmund.

United are still at the front of the queue, yet the chances of someone coming close to that fee are in the balance due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Dortmund said again at the weekend they expect the player to be with them next season and they will hold out for top dollar.

Sancho was back in the starting line-up for the weekend’s 1-0 win at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

But his flouting of lockdown rules to get a haircut was the latest in a long line of issues his club have had.

Missing a team meeting when he fell asleep, failing to show for training and returning to the UK without permission are some of the incidents listed in German publication Sport Bild last week.

They will come as no surprise to City’s hierarchy — given the manner of his departure three years ago.

In summer 2017, City offered Sancho a £30,000-a-week new deal — a club record for an academy star.

It was all in place and he was due to head off for City’s US pre-season tour.

Yet he was omitted from the tour and boss Pep was unwilling to make any first-team assurances.

Left behind in the UK, Sancho skipped training and it became clear it was the end.

He joined Dortmund for an initial fee of around £8m.

City secured the right to match any future bids that came in for him as part of that deal.

They are currently looking elsewhere and have no plans to use that option.

But if their European ban is lifted and they lose winger Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich, they could yet look for a new wideman.

Ex-City midfielder Didi Hamann still believes Sancho will end up at Old Trafford.

He said: “Sancho’s just too good to wait another year.

“I see him going to the Prem — most likely United.”
