You can read his big each-way double and longshot for Friday here.
But it is to Newcastle we go for his main fancy.
LORD OF THE GLEN (8.05 Newcastle, nap)
A quick look at the form figures of Phil Dennis’s five-year-old shows just how consistent he is. He has not been out of the frame in his past six runs with three wins in that sequence.
He swooped late for a cosy success at Southwell last time with plenty left in the tank.
He loves it around here too with two wins and a pair of places from his past four visits.
A 5lb penalty won’t stop him striking again.
STAINSBY GIRL (1.45 Hexham, nb)
She finished last season with an easy win at Newcastle and has the champion jockey Brian Hughes on board for this comeback.
She is another who kept hitting the podium last season and was never worse than third from five outings.
She was a close second the last time she ran here and can go one better.
OCEAN DRIFTER (12.50 Fontwell, treble)
Oliver Sherwood’s five-year-old can get off the mark at the third attempt.
He showed promise when third in a Hereford bumper on debut in March and took a big step forward when second on his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter.
It won’t take a lot more to get off the mark in what looks a shallow contest.
11.55 Duke Of Condicote
Flat winner who will know his job on this hurdles debut for Alan King.
12.25 Bothwell Bridge
Two good seconds in bumpers last term and will make a nice hurdler.
Won his last two hurdles runs and will make a nice chaser.
Has been going close including when second here last time out.

2.20 Sophie Fatale

Consistent and has been found a good comeback opportunity.
3.30 A Ladies Milan
Went close over course and distance last time out.
4.05 Bobby Bow
Irish points winner who should do well in this grade.
Goes well here and went close again last time out.
Had plenty in hand when scoring at Chelmsford latest.
Bred to be much better and comes from top trainer William Haggas.
5.30 Kind Review
Likes this track and another solid effort here last time out.
Not beaten far here last time and this looks wide open.
