Harry Redknapp jokes he will sleep in the New Forest as preparation for I'm a Celeb appearance

The former West Ham and Spurs manager is heading Down Under for the ITV show in the run-up to Christmas.

And the 71-year-old – who wants Peter Crouch to join him – has let slip how he will get ready to face the creepy crawlies in the Australian jungle.

He told talkSPORT: "I might go and sleep in the New Forest for a week in preparation.

"I'm trying not to think about it at all."

It is understood the legendary football boss will pocket around £100,000 for going on the show.

Former stars Dennis Wise, Kieron Dyer, Jimmy Bullard, Rodney Marsh, John Fashanu, Wayne Bridge and Neil Ruddock.

And Redknapp said he had turned to Razor – one of his former West Ham players – for advice on how to win over the public and avoid being voted out.

'Arry said: "He said it was the toughest thing he's ever done.

"You could imagine Razor not eating for a month. It would have killed him!"

And Redknapp has previously admitted he has struggled to make it through the day without wife Sandra – so imagine how he will get on in the jungle!

He said: "I wouldn't cope. I'm useless. She treats me like. She does everything.

"I can't cook. I can't make a coffee. I can't do nothing."
