HARRY MAGUIRE has been slated by ex-Manchester United stars including Rio Ferdinand for his latest sub-par performance.
The Red Devils skipper dropped a dreadful display as his side threw away a half-time lead against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Maguire, 28, was at fault as Jay Rodriguez levelled for the hosts within two minutes of the restart.
And his latest gaffe didn't go unnoticed by observers.
BT Sport pundit Ferdinand, 43, said: "This season, you’ve seen that [below-par performances].
“I’m not sure if that’s a hangover from the Euros physically and mentally, I’m not sure. There hasn’t been the consistency of a player you’d expect of that stature.
“Behind closed doors he will take responsibility for that. He doesn’t need to come out here and go crazy and he’ll iron it out.
“The challenge he made just over the halfway line, he’s lucky to stay on the pitch because I feel the striker is running in on goal. It’s a performance he’ll like to erase and get into the next game as quick as possible. But these things happen.”

Analysing Burnley's goal, Ferdinand added: "This touch across Maguire takes him completely out of it.
"I don’t think Maguire is quick enough to have got there to affect that situation once it got beyond him.
“It’s about stopping it at the source. Once he has the big number nine, keep him facing [away from] the goal.
"He’s got the security of (Scott) McTominay in front of him, he can deal with him a little bit. These are small mistakes leading to big moments.”
Speaking to Paddy Power, meanwhile, former United ace Kleberson admitted that he believes his old team need to replace Maguire altogether.
He said: "Manchester United need to make some signings at the centre-back position to replace Harry Maguire.
They need someone faster, stronger in the air
"He’s a great player and leader, but there are too many moments that he just doesn’t perform, particularly when he’s one-on-one, or up against pacey players. He needs help defending.
“They need someone faster, stronger in the air, that can anticipate what will happen and that will be able to stop counter attacks.
“I like Matthijs de Ligt, Manchester United tried to bring him in a few years ago, but it didn’t quite work out.
"Manchester United need a player like him. They need to get someone in there to
do a better job."
Maguire, however, felt that United's strikers were also to blame for not being 'clinical' enough.
He said: "We’ve got to not concede a goal in that moment, I think it happened against Middlesbrough on Friday as well.
"We conceded a goal where they had their little spell of pressure.
"But, of course, we’ve created enough chances in the first half alone to win the football match and we’ve got to be a little bit more clinical from everyone.
"It’s definitely two points dropped."
