Harry Kane wants to be GOAT like Tom Brady by ending career in NFL as kicker

ENGLAND captain Harry Kane wants to finish his career playing American Football.

The Tottenham striker revealed he would love to try himself as an NFL kicker "in ten or 12 years" – after retiring from football.

Kane, 25, is a huge fan of the US sport and even has his own limited edition NFL jersey – released by Tottenham thanks to the club's close connections to the American league.

The striker is an ardent New England Patriots supporter and cheered on his team battling it out with the LA Rams in the Super Bowl in Atlanta while nursing his ankle injury.

And the Spurs ace revealed he could see himself making his NFL debut one day as a kicker.

He told ESPN: "That's real. Something that in ten or 12 years I definitely want to try.

"It goes back to that drive to be the best. Even if I download a game on my phone, can I be the best in the world?"

"If you play in the Premier League and the World Cup and you then play in the NFL, would you then be considered one of the greatest sportsmen ever?"

Being an NFL kicker is not the most glamorous job in the sport as they only appear on the pitch for a few seconds when a team attempts to score a field goal.

Kane hopes that, once he has called time on his football career, his killer instinct and lethal shooting skills could be translated into place-kicking.

If you play in the Premier League and the World Cup and you then play in the NFL, would you then be considered one of the greatest sportsmen ever?

NFL legend Tom Brady inspired Kane to become the football superstar he is today.

The Spurs ace claims he saw his soulmate in the Pats hero because of similar obstacles they faced in their early days in sport.

Kane added: "I started watching him on YouTube, we've had a similar path being doubted when we were younger. Maybe not being the best athletes as kids.

"It was quite a big inspiration. Not many people thought he'd become that good, or even play in the NFL, and he went on to become the best ever.

"At the time, it gave me a real boost to say, look, anything is possible.

"If you have that self-belief and that drive and that hunger, you can do it."
