Harry Kane in touching tribute to England mascot Ben Williams who passed away, aged 6, after battle with brain cancer – The Sun

ENGLAND captain Harry Kane has posted a touching tribute to a six-year-old lad who sadly passed away recently.

Little Ben Williams had been fighting brain cancer since just after his fifth birthday and was Three Lions mascot for their Nations League clash against Spain in September last year.

Ben joined Kane as the Tottenham striker showed off his World Cup golden boot to the Wembley crowd before the match.

Kane, 25, tweeted: "Very sad to hear that Ben Williams passed away recently.

"It was an honour to have met him at the Spain game and shared a special moment with the golden boot.

"My thoughts are with his family."

Ben was described as "an inspiration" by the Spurs striker after undergoing radiotherapy at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

He died in May, but Kane has used the opportunity to pay tribute to him, as well as raise awareness of a good cause in Ben's honour.

His family and a group of friends are planning to ride bikes from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust.

Tottenham's first pre-season friendly of takes place on Sunday when they face Juventus in Singapore, before facing Manchester United a few days later.

Kane got married during the off season to his long-term partner Kate Goodland.

The Three Lions skipper shared a picture planting a kiss Kate's forehead after he proposed to her in the Bahamas two years ago.
