Ger Lyon's Siskin 'sore' but no lasting damage after unfortunate Newmarket stalls incident

GER LYONS revealed Siskin is unlikely to run again this season after his unfortunate incident in the stalls at Newmarket on Saturday.

The colt was well-fancied for Saturday's Middle Park Stakes as he put his unbeaten record on the line, but reared and went down in the stalls prior to the race.

He was quickly taken out of the stalls and withdrawn from the race and has since been checked over by a vet.

Lyons said:"He's a bit stiff and sore with superficial cuts and bruises, but nothing that needed stitching. Our vet checked him when he came back and there is nothing lasting.

"None of us know what happened. Colin (Keane) can't put his finger on it and he was on him.

"I'd say we're more than likely finished for the year, but we won't make a call on that until next weekend."
