Foden posts amazing throwback pictures after signing new £30k-a-week Man City contract until 2024

Foden has signed a new £30,000-a-week deal to remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2024.

And the Stockport-born teenager then took to social media reveal he is leaving his childhood dreams by playing for the club he supporter as a boy.

And Foden, 18, also published some throwback pictures of himself when he was a child hoping to make the grade as a footballer.

One snap shows the beaming youngster sat in full City kit complete with sky-blue wristband.

The other shows a smiling Foden with his family in another City strip as it becomes clear he has always had the club close to his heart.

He wrote: "City since I can remember… Started going to the Etihad with my mum every weekend, singing Blue Moon from the stands like every other fan.

"I grew up watching and admiring the current team so to now be playing with guys like Vinny and David is something I smile about every day.

"Playing for this club means everything. The future is blue."

Foden has been at City since the age of eight, and one of English football's brightest young talents is now keen to prove himself with the elite of Pep Guardiola's squad.

The club's director of football Txiki Begiristain said: “We are delighted to have secured Phil for the next five and a half years.

“He is an outstanding talent and he is Manchester City born and bred so this is where he wants to play his football.

“Under Pep and with the players we have here around him, he is in the best place possible to develop as a player.”
