FIFA 19: Bizarre glitch which saw Arsenal star Petr Cech wear helmet for transfer negotiations fixed by EA Sports

An EA Sports gaffe saw the Arsenal goalkeeper donning a suit and A HAT during contract negotiations on the latest instalment of the popular football game.

This was picked up on social media and went viral, with many baffled as to why this was included in the game and even the Arsenal player himself seeing the funny side.

Cech, who has been ruled out for a month through injury, wears a protective helmet during matches to protect his skull after suffering a horrendous head injury 12 years ago.

EA Sports have now acknowledged the error in their latest patch, which contains several tweaks and fixes, including the removal of Cech's padding from cutaway scenes.

On Twitter the news was met with a mixed reception, with many believing the glitch should have been left in – purely for entertainment purposes.

EA Sports showed they had a sense of humour, giving the veteran keeper a red tie after his earlier Twitter request.

Cech said on the glitch: "It's wrong guys, I'd wear a tie!"

The Czech shot stopper may use the next month to hone his skills on the game – as he is forced to watch on from the sidelines as Bernd Leno looks to impress in his absence.

Cech has been a virtual ever-present for the north Londoners since joining from Chelsea three years ago.
