Fabregas reacts to sacking of Arsenal pal Henry at Monaco with bleak warning

The midfielder completed his move to the Ligue 1 club from Chelsea on January 11 and said Henry was a big reason behind him deciding to make the move.

But just 14 days later, his former Arsenal team-mate was sacked following a disastrous run of results that left the club second from bottom with just 15 points from 21 games..

Henry, 41, won just two matches out of 12 during his short return to Stade Louis II.

Fabregas said: "Football doesn't wait for anyone.

“Maybe it was not the right moment or he didn't have the time to fulfil all his plans and everything he wanted to do.

“That is life, it happens.”

Fabregas played with Henry between 2003 and 2007 in North London, before following the Frenchman’s path to Barcelona in 2011.

By then Henry had already moved on to New York Red Bulls in the MLS but that did not diminish his admiration of the Arsenal legend.

Fabregas added: "I am not going to lie, one of the main reasons for me coming to Monaco is that Thierry called me.

"He wanted me to play every game, every minute.

“We are sad for 'Titi' because I really think he will be a top coach, I am sure of it."

Leonardo Jardim has now been brought back in to replace Henry, just three months after being sacked by Monaco.
