Erik Lamela forced off for Tottenham with blood pouring from his head after collision at Selhurst Park

Argentinian Lamela was caught by Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew's studs as he fell to the ground 10 minutes from time in Spurs's 1-0 win.

The 26-year-old forward was attended to by Tottenham's medics on the field but could not continue.

Midfielder Harry Winks replaced Lamela and Mauricio Pochettino's team eased to the victory in South London.

Lamela has been an integral part of Pochettino's team this season.

He has scored six goals in 13 appearances this season that have helped Spurs put pressure on their North London rivals.

Spurs opened up a four-point gap to Arsenal who play Wolves tomorrow.

Juan Foyth scored the goal that earned Spurs victory a week after he'd been at fault for the two goals conceded at Wolves.

He reacted first to head the ball in from close range after Luka Milivojevic had blocked Harry Kane’s header from an Lamela corner.
The only sour note for Spurs was Kieran Trippier's injury in the first-half that may see him miss England's clashes with the USA and Croatia.
