David Silva could have played last Man City game after £12m Qatar offer

DAVID SILVA could have played his last game for Manchester City – after being tempted by a £12million tax-free retirement jackpot.

The Etihad legend, 33, is mulling over a two-year offer from a club in Qatar.

And SunSport understands City are chasing £40m-rated Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans, 22, as they plan for life without their Spanish maestro.

Silva has been at the Etihad since 2010 and has won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups  — making him one of the club’s most decorated players.

He scored the opening goal in last week’s 6-0 FA Cup final rout of Watford as City completed an historic domestic Treble.

The midfielder, a World Cup winner in 2010, is under contract until June next year.

But the £6m-a-year offer from Qatar effectively doubles his City wage — as it is tax free.

A City source said: “It would be a real shock if David does leave but he has had a great offer and is thinking it over hard. At the moment he’s more likely to go than stay.”

Forward-looking City have already made contact with Tielemans’ people.

Monaco’s Belgian international  has been starring on loan at Leicester, who are desperate to seal a permanent deal.

Guardiola was hugely impressed with Tielemans’ performance in City’s  1-0 win over the Foxes at the Etihad this month and made a beeline for the midfielder after the game.

Arsenal and Spurs are keen and Monaco hope to spark a bidding war.
