All-Australian defender Dane Rampe has committed to the Sydney Swans until the end of 2022 after signing a three-year extension.
The decision means the 28-year-old is likely to be a Swan for life with the contract not ending until after he turns 32.
Rampe has become one of the game's most reliable defenders in 138 games for the club, earning All-Australian selection in 2016 and playing in the Swans' 2012 premiership.
He finished sixth in the club's best and fairest in 2018, having held down a key post in defence with several teammates such as Heath Grundy and Aliir Aliir in and out of the side throughout the season.
Rampe told AFL Media he was pleased to sign a long term deal.
"It came together pretty easily, the club approached me a little bit earlier than I would have thought, but I'm obviously rapt," he said.
The Swans have locked in several key players on long term deals with star midfielder Luke Parker contracted until the end of 2021 while superstar forward Lance Franklin's nine year deal runs out at the end of 2022.
They traded out midfielder Dan Hannebery St Kilda this season two years before his contract expired and also facilitated a trade for Gary Rohan to Geelong.
Sydney have made the finals every season since 2009 and played in three grand finals this decade for one premiership.
